About The Moderates Perspective

This blog is devoted to free speech. It would like to focus on political, economic and social issues. It was created in part, as a counter-balance to extremist views that are pervasive on many blogs and currently dominating certain news organizations.

It encourages moderate viewpoints, but all comments are welcome as long as they abide by the spirit of the blog. That spirit is:  no abusive language - which means no curse words; no name calling;  no disrespectful dialog. To some extent, defining "disrespectful" is like trying to define pornography. "It's hard to define but I know it when I see it".  The site encourages members of the community to comment if they believe a given post is inappropriate.

The site encourages the community to place links for references to other web sites that can substantiate one's point of view. It is open to everyone. Thus, the name is "Moderates" as in plural, not as in single possesive.  An informed community makes for a better society in general.

I, Lou Milone, am the creator of The Moderates Perspective. I am a family man, a school bus driver, and a musician.  I was in the software business, until work quit on me.  Being laid off from a large and well known American I.T. firm during the great recession of 2008 gave me a lot of time to research the issue of the economy.  I was always interested and involved - in varying degrees, in politics since I was very young, and I tended to believe in conservative ideology. But the reading and analysis I did on the cause of the great recession (even as the recession was still playing out), lead me to different conclusions about what was going on - then what was being said, particularly from my own Republican party.  Thus, I started this blog.

Thank you for using The Moderates Perspective.
